Grade: Kindergarten

I am so thrilled to be a teacher at Chapel Hill Christian School. It is amazing how God leads us exactly where we should be. More importantly, when we listen and follow through, God leads us exactly where He wants us to be. I am confident He has led me to CHCS. I look forward to serving Him and serving you!
It seems as though my adult life began in 2005. It was a big year for me and quickly I was forced to grow up. The year began with my graduation from Cedarville University with a B.A in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Bible. Three weeks later I married my wonderful husband and high school sweetheart Andrew. Andrew happens to be a CHCS Greene campus graduate. A few months later I began teaching Kindergarten. Since then there have been many ups and downs, but one thing I have learned is that Kindergarten is the best and only grade to teach!
Kindergarten comes from the German roots kinder meaning child and garten meaning a place for cultivation. Therefore, Kindergarten is a place where the youth of our society come to grow and learn. There is no better place than Chapel Hill Christian School for a child to plant their roots and grow. Likewise, there is no better place for me to be a gardener and cultivate the blessed little plants that come to my room each year. Deuteronomy 32:2 states, "Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants". This verse is why I teach Kindergarten. Children are tender plants. My hope and goal is that my teaching and the values represented at CHCS radiate like the warmth of a greenhouse. My prayer is that when a student leaves Kindergarten they have a solid biblical and educational foundation in which they are eager to build upon. My prayer is that God uses me in a mighty way! I can t wait to see what his plans are. Come to my classroom and see them unfold!!
